I am so thrilled to be returning to WholeFamily MD. I originally joined the practice in 2011 before the birth of my second daughter, though after she was born, my family moved to the Peninsula and I needed to spend more time at home. Happily, my flexibility has returned as my children have gotten a little older, and I am excited to get back to it!
WholeFamily MD is a unique atmosphere and I have missed it. After working in several different medical environments over the past few years, it is clear that this has always been the ideal practice for me. At WholeFamily MD I can spend time with my patients and explore their health and treatment options without feeling rushed. I love that I have incredible colleagues who I can collaborate with, and I can offer the best of my skills, combining evidence-based primary care with thoughtful and comprehensive integrative medicine.
My philosophy on treating and working with patients dates back to when I was a child and developed a severe case of psoriasis. The experience of being a patient for many years allowed me to understand firsthand what it’s like to be on the other side and I strive to remember that experience every day I engage with my patients. I learned that listening first is imperative and the experience of the patient is valid, even if it goes against our current understanding of medical science. I also learned that the doctor is not in charge – the patient must be fully engaged in their care for real success.
I enjoy being a family doctor and having a diverse practice, including patients of all ages and levels of health. I also have a particular passion for helping those with psoriasis and other diseases of inflammation.
I am so excited to be working with the WholeFamily MD community again. Starting in October I will be accepting appointments with new and current patients. In the meantime, feel free to reach out to explore whether working together could help you and your family work toward optimal health.
